Graduated in Physics, bachelor's degree, from the Universidade de Brasília, Brazil, (UnB - 2003), with a master's and doctorate, also in Physics, from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Brazil (UFSM, 2006 and 2010, respectively), in the area of Astronomy and Astrophysics. Vinicius has been a professor since 2009, when he started in the Mathematics department at UFSM as a temporary professor.
 
Since 2010, Vinicius has been a professor at the Universidade Federal do Pampa (UNIPAMPA), at Campus Caçapava do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. However, his teaching experience is long, having been a teacher of preparatory courses for public exams and high schools, for more than 8 years before his university career.
 
His research experience is in the area of Astronomy, with an emphasis on Astrophysics, working especially in the themes: interstellar medium and H II region and, since 2018, in the area of Space Geosciences. Since the beginning of his career as an astronomer, Vinicius has always sought to improve his observational experience, both in spectroscopy and photometry.
 
From December 2013 to December 2014 he was away to carry out a postdoctoral internship at Université Laval, Quebec, Canada; together with the astronomy group responsible for the Spectrometer Sitelle, installed at CFHT-Hawaii, USA.

From June 2022 to June 2024, he worked on projects at the Interactive Center for Astronomy and Innovation in Education (NUCLIO) in Lisbon, Portugal. He coordinated the D.O.M.E. project, funded by Erasmus+, and helped with the CliC-PoLiT and Astronomine projects. He was also involved with the Change Makers Cascais initiative.
